The Situation
Malaika Children’s Home is a care home for children in Arusha, Tanzania, founded in 2004 by the volunteers Francesca Aimone and Jutta Kassam.
Malaika Children’s Home provides a shelter for abandoned children and gives them all they need to grow up serenely. The inspiriting principle has been to set up a care home and not simply an orphanage, a safe place where children can grow up, by recreating a family-like environment with stimulating activities and constant care, offering them support, education and medical treatments.
The Italian non-profit organization Malaika Children’s Friends Onlus supports Malaika Children’s Home in carrying out its everyday activities and structural projects.
